Taft, TXPosted on April 3, 2006 at 07:24:06 AM by D.G. of TaftFather Francisco Is At It Again! Now he was caught with a high school boy spending nights at his house. The funny thing is that Bishop Carmody knows about it, but has done nothing. Apparently it is ok. What is even more striking is that it is the son of his secretary. What’s that, you don’t believe me? Well, don’t take my word for it, call the Bishop’s office and ask him your self. I’ve even provided you with his number: (361) 882-6191 x302. For that matter, here is his e-mail: BishopCarmody@DioceseCC.org.
False Postings Here. Please ReadPosted on April 4, 2006 at 12:39:00 PM by Lizzy RobledoHello Everyone. My name is Lizzy Robledo. I Sing and conduct the choir at ICC. I was informed last night that there were postings here concerning the ICC parish and the Priest. I was shocked to see that it was Signed or rather initialed DG. I would like for you who read these postings to know that it is not the DG who is running for City Council. Everyone is entiled to their own opinion, but draging other's names to the signature of anothers opinion isn't right. People will always judge each other, that's our human nature, but in God's eyes and with God's Love he continues to forgive and take us back. This doesn't matter who we are. (sinner or saint) When stuff comes up, it's our invitation to prayer, for ourselves and for each other. I see that everyone else who has posted has typed out their own name or atleast can be recognized. DG, type out the rest of your name to clarify who you are. Just alittle extra info, debbie doesn't have internet access or even a computer for that matter. Pray for those involved and let's let God be our judge
God Bless You All,
Lizzy Robledo

Well first off, I am not Debbie Garcia, I am pretty sure of that. In fact, I am much older than she. I do attend ICC and have been a parishioner there for a very long time. Like Debbie who I am in support of have been victimized by Father Francisco as well. Yes Elizabeth (Lizzy) I know that People are all entitled to their opinion and for that reason I only used my initials. As many of us know, when one lives in Taft and tries to make a stand for what is right, well the tendency is usually not a positive one. For some reason people in Taft never stand as one. I am sorry, but it never dawned on me that Debbie and I have the same initials. I am a CCD teacher at ICC and I think what is being done to Debbie is wrong. Lizzy, I pray every night and day, I still have yet to see an end or the light. Since the arrival of Father Francisco our parish has suffered tremendously. He has caused nothing but division amongst our people and has driven many families away. Fortunately for Roman Catholics there are more than one Church we can attend. As many of us know though, it is not the same when one has attended the same church since childhood. It is nice to visit another Church every now and then, but it is not home. Time after time and problem after problem, the Bishop still does nothing. God has already given him the authority to do what is right. Many, many people have filed complaints. This priest has been caught stealing the Church’s money, harassing a man, stepping out of the boundaries of a priest’s responsibilities, and much more. Yet, the Bishop still does nothing. What is it going take to have him dealt with properly. He was ordered to pay thousands of dollars that had been accounted back to the Church and he has not. He claims that an ICC financial committee made up of four people forgave the debt. This was not an elected committee he appointed them himself. I want to know what right those four people were given to let the people’s hard earned money be given away? Elected Parrish Councils have been dismissed and appointed ones set in place over and over. When he does not get his way, he dismisses. When have you heard of a Priest that has had over 5 secretaries in 6 years? Believe me when I say that they all have an extra ordinary story to tell. Yet, the Bishop still does nothing.

Which Father Francisco? There are a lot of them! Which city? Is it here in Corpus? I would like to protect my child, but the information you are giving is so sketchy.

To counter them, he turned to a trusted friend, the most powerful Catholic in the United States. “I said, ‘John, here are some clippings of what the bishops are saying about me. I need you to silence them. I’m not asking you to interfere in the litigation. Just tell them to shut up. You can do that.’” O’Connor did that and more. Gracida recalls that the public turmoil did quiet down, but he soon became convinced that O’Connor had more in mind than simply mediating the dispute. “Our attorney flew to New York and met with O’Connor in his living room,” he says. “He came back from that meeting and told me, ‘You’ve got to know who you’re fighting here. He’s going to try to take over the foundation.’” O’Connor died last year, apparently without making any public comments on his role in the Kenedy controversy. Cardinal O’Connor was named head of a Papal commission charged with mediating the foundation fight before it actually got to court. His two co-mediators were Bernard Cardinal Law of Boston and Bishop Raymond Burke from Wisconsin. Gracida says Burke later told him that O’Connor and Law froze him out of their deliberations, which to the Corpus Christi bishop seemed directed more toward wresting the foundation away from him than exploring a middle ground in the dispute. O’Connor could not have seized power directly-the law was too plain on that issue-but Gracida surmises that the Cardinal certainly would have enjoyed a great deal of indirect influence on foundation matters had he delivered it into the Texas bishops’ control. The Cardinal pressured him to capitulate, Gracida says, invoking his extraordinary influence both in the United States and, more importantly, in Rome, but the Corpus Christi bishop would not budge. Gracida also distrusted his co-adjutor and anointed successor as bishop, Roberto Gonzalez (now Archbishop of Puerto Rico), who had risen through the Catholic hierarchy as a protege of both O’Connor and Law. He did not want Gonzalez-or any bishop-succeeding him as president of the foundation, and therefore presented as his non-negotiable demand that there could be no settlement unless the majority of any new Kenedy board were not clerics.
